Remodelling of the infarcted heart: piezoelectric multifuncional patch enabling the sequential release of therapeutic factors

Project

The project’s ambition is to provide a multifunctional and intelligent cardiac patch with the aim of preventing heart failure in patients who survive an acute myocardial infarction

Objectives

Development of an acellular piezoelectric patch that allows the release of proliferative, anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, reducing arrhythmogenic risks

Impacts

REBORN has potential find one advanced solution that will provide a paradigm shift in capability for the treatment of patients who have suffered a myocardial infarction.
