The REBORN project took part in the 34th Annual Conference of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB 2025), held on 7–11 September at the Lingotto Conference Center in Torino, Italy.

As part of the event, REBORN hosted a dedicated symposium “Smart and Multifunctional Biomaterials Towards the Horizon”, which was structured in two sessions: the first focused on post-myocardial infarction cardiac repair, featuring REBORN and ELR-SCAR, while the second addressed chronic wound treatment, with FORCE REPAIR and NABIHEAL. The symposium brought together leading experts, academics, and industrial stakeholders to discuss how multifunctional biomaterials can address major clinical challenges. Sister projects such as NOMAD and BUCCAL-PEP also contributed to the programme, showcasing the strong clustering and networking dimension fostered by Horizon Europe initiatives.

Alongside the symposium, REBORN was present with a dedicated booth that attracted great interest from researchers, industry representatives, and healthcare organisations. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the project’s objectives and ongoing work, participate in an interactive survey, and exchange views with consortium members.

The participation in ESB 2025 proved to be a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration with sister projects, gather feedback and establish new contacts across academia, industry and public bodies, and promote the REBORN vision towards innovative and multifunctional biomaterials for cardiac regeneration. Overall, the event provided excellent visibility for REBORN, generating positive feedback, strong networking opportunities, and meaningful engagement with the biomaterials community.
