On 19 February, from 14:00 to 15:00 CET, the first webinar of the REBORN series successfully took place at Politecnico di Torino, marking the official launch of the project’s webinar programme.
The session featured Andrea Spotti (beWarrant | Tinexta Innovation Hub), the REBORN Project Coordinator Prof. Chiara Vitale-Brovarone, and Dr. Giorgia Montalbano, who guided participants through the scientific vision and technological foundations of the project.
The webinar introduced REBORN and provided a comprehensive overview of the key strategies developed for designing a smart engineered cardiac patch aimed at supporting tissue regeneration following myocardial infarction. The speakers set the scientific and technological context in which REBORN operates, outlining the project’s objectives, the challenges it addresses, and its expected impact. Participants were also introduced to the consortium and its multidisciplinary expertise, highlighting the complementary roles of the partners involved.
Particular attention was dedicated to the development and optimisation of multifunctional biomaterials and advanced manufacturing approaches, which have led to the successful design of the first REBORN cardiac patch prototype.
This first event marked the beginning of a series of thematic webinars. Upcoming sessions will explore in greater depth the technologies underpinning the final device and provide further insights into specific activities and results achieved within the project.
